Follow tasks: views, status changes and time logging

The tasks page shows the same work in several ways: list, board, calendar and timeline. From there you update each task's status, and you log the actual time from the project page.

Steps

Choose a view

  1. Open Tasks from the side menu.
  2. At the top of the page choose List view, Kanban, Calendar or Timeline.

Change a task's status

  1. In Kanban, drag the task card to the column of the new status.
  2. Or click the task to open its details and pick the status from the status menu.
  3. When the task is finished, click Complete task.

Log time on a task

  1. Open the project. In the project menu, under Executing, choose Timesheets.
  2. Click Log time.
  3. Choose the Task, set the Work date and the Hours, and choose whether the time is Billable.
  4. Click Save.

Good to know

  • A team member who is not a manager sees Send for review instead of Complete task. The task then moves to the pending review status.
  • In List view you can use Group by to arrange tasks by project, assignee, priority, due date or client.
  • If you use the same filters every day, open Saved views and click Save current view. Turn on Share with the team if your colleagues should use it too.
  • The shortest time you can log is a quarter of an hour, the longest is 24 hours in one entry, and the date cannot be in the future.
  • Time logged from Timesheets is for tasks of that project only.
  • The Timesheets page shows total hours against the estimate and hours per member, and has Export CSV.
  • The Completion time field inside the task details is the expected time for the task. It does not log actual time.
