A task is the smallest piece of work in Upcycle: one thing, for one person, by one date. Any task can be linked to a project so the project's progress updates by itself.
Before you start
- To assign a task to a colleague, that colleague must already be part of your company's team in Upcycle.
Steps
- Open Tasks from the side menu.
- Click Add new task.
- Under Choose a project, pick the project the task belongs to, or choose No project.
- Type the task name in the field next to it.
- Set the Start date and the End date.
- In the Work field (the team field), search for your colleague's name and select it. You can pick more than one person.
- Choose the Priority level and the Status (for example Ready or In progress).
- Optional: write a Description, set the expected Completion time in hours and minutes, attach what is needed under Files, and break the work down under Subtasks.
- Click Save task.
Good to know
- If you open the window while you are on My tasks, the team field is not shown and the task is assigned to you.
- To change the assignee later, click the task to open its details, then click Execution team and pick the new person.
- From template creates a task with its subtasks from your industry's task templates. If the list is empty, your industry has no task templates yet.
- To see the tasks of one project only, open the project, then Tasks in the project menu. When you add a task from there, still pick the project in the window so the task is linked to it.
- A team member sees their own tasks. A manager also has Team tasks in the tasks menu.
- A task with an End date in the past shows as overdue, so do not leave the date empty.
