A client record is where that client's projects, deals, invoices and your notes come together. Add your clients first, then link projects and deals to them.
Steps
- Open Clients from the side menu.
- Click New client.
- Type the Client name. It is the only required field. Everything else can be filled in later.
- Under Company, choose the Type (Company, Individual, Government) and the Status (Active, Inactive, Potential, Lost). Add the Industry and Source if you want.
- Under How to reach them, add the email, phone, website and city.
- Under Account and contract, choose the Owner from your team. If the client is on a monthly contract, add the Monthly retainer and the Renewal date.
- Under Contacts, click Add contact for each person you deal with at the client, and pick their role (Decision maker, Billing, Marketing and so on).
- Click Create client.
Import clients from a file
- On the Clients page, click More, then Import CSV.
- Click Download template and fill it with your clients.
- Choose the file under CSV file, then click Import.
Good to know
- While you type, Upcycle warns you if a client with the same name, email, phone or website already exists, so you can open that record and avoid a duplicate.
- On import, a row that matches an existing email or name updates that client. The other rows are added as new clients. Column names are accepted in Arabic or English.
- On a client's page, open More to start a New deal, a New project or a New invoice already linked to that client.
- The owner, the monthly retainer and the renewal date feed the client health score and the renewal alerts. Fill them in for retainer clients.
- Deleting a client does not delete their projects, invoices and deals. They stay, but without a client.
- The number of clients is not limited on any plan. Inviting a client to the client portal is available from the Starter plan up.
