Link your company WhatsApp number

Upcycle sends WhatsApp messages from your company's own number. You link the number once by scanning a QR code with the phone that holds it, the same way you link WhatsApp Web.

Before you start

  • Your plan must include WhatsApp. The Free plan does not; see the plans page for how many numbers each plan allows.
  • You need to be an admin, or have permission to manage integrations or campaigns.
  • Keep the phone with the company number next to you, with WhatsApp open.

Steps

  1. Open Settings from the side menu, then choose Integrations.
  2. Under All integrations, open the WhatsApp card.
  3. Click Connect WhatsApp. Upcycle turns WhatsApp on for your workspace and shows WhatsApp numbers.
  4. Click Add number. A window titled Scan the code in WhatsApp opens with a QR code.
  5. On the phone, open WhatsApp, go to Settings, then Linked devices, then Link a device, and point the camera at the code.
  6. Wait for Number linked. The number now shows in the list with the Connected badge.
  7. If you linked more than one number, click Make default next to the one that should send. It gets the Default sending number badge.

Good to know

  • You can also reach the same card from Marketing, then Platforms.
  • The code refreshes by itself until the number is linked. If a number shows Waiting for scan, click Scan QR code to try again.
  • The default number is the one that sends your automations and reminders.
  • Incoming messages are matched to the lead or client who has the same phone number, and they can start an automation.
  • Disconnect unlinks the number and lets you link it again later. Remove deletes it from your workspace.
  • Add number stops working when you reach the number of numbers in your plan. Upgrade to add more.
  • If the badge turns to Not connected, click Refresh status, and if it stays that way scan the code again.
  • If you see "WhatsApp is not enabled on the platform yet", contact support.
