Give a client access to the client portal

You will be able to invite a client to their own portal so they can follow projects and invoices and approve work themselves.

From the Starter plan Updated 8 November 2026
Give a client access to the client portal

The client portal is a private page under your company's name and logo, where a client sees only what belongs to them. You invite them by email, and they sign in with a secure link, with no password.

Before you start

  • The client portal is available from the Starter plan. See the plans page.
  • The client is saved under Clients, and you have the email of the person who will use the portal.

Steps

  1. Open Clients from the side menu, then open the client's page.
  2. Click the Portal tab.
  3. In the Client portal card, click Invite portal user.
  4. Type the Name and Email. Phone and Job title are optional.
  5. Click Send invite. The client receives an email with a secure sign-in link that is valid for 72 hours.
  6. Copy the Portal link from the same card with Copy link and keep it. This is the address the client uses every time.

Good to know

  • What the client sees: Dashboard, My projects, Approvals, Invoices, Quotes, Reports, Requests, Meetings, Documents, Messages and Support tickets. A marketing company's client also sees Content calendar, Marketing and Brand assets.
  • A client sees only their own projects, meaning the projects where you picked them as the project's client.
  • To hide a section from all clients, open Settings, then Client portal, change Visible sections and click Save. Only an account admin sees this page.
  • To sign in after the link expires, the client opens the portal link, chooses Sign in with magic link, types their email and clicks Send sign-in link.
  • If the invite did not arrive, open the menu next to the user's name and click Resend invite. The same menu has Revoke access and Restore access.
  • The first user you invite for a client becomes the account owner in the portal. They can invite colleagues from the Team section and give each one a role: Owner, Approver or Viewer (can view, but not decide).
  • The same email cannot be invited twice in one company.
